MCH Poetry Plus - Finding Eliza Cook in many odd corners

A talk and poetry reading by Carmel Summers and the Canberra poets who encouraged
her exploration.

Eliza Cook, wife of Captain Cook, considered she had written herself out of history by
destroying all personal papers and records before her death. Fortunately traces remain.
In this talk I describe the many places I found her history when writing her biography,
The Silence of Eliza Cook, which will be published in 2027 by Recent Work Press.
